Strawberry Pretzel Salad

I made the Strawberry Pretzel Salad for the Brew-A-Que this year and got rave reviews, so here it is so you can make it this summer and win the favor of everyone who partakes!

Ingredients:
-1 stick of butter
-sugar
-pretzels
-8 oz. cream cheese
-cool whip
-6 oz. package of strawberry jello
-10 oz. package of frozen strawberries (I suggest sliced strawberries, not whole strawberries)

Directions:

For Top Layer:
1. Boil 2 cups of water
2. Mix jello with water and stir until dissolved.
3. Stir in strawberries and chill until slightly congealed.

For Bottom Layer (as soon as the top layer goes in the fridge):
1. Crush 2 cups of pretzels
2. Melt the stick of butter
3. Mix butter, pretzels and 2 tablespoons of sugar in the bottom of a baking dish (9 x 13).
4. Bake at 400 degrees for 8 minutes.
5. Take out of oven and let cool.

As the top layer is congealing and the bottom layer is cooling, start working on the middle layer.

For Middle Layer:
1. Mix together cream cheese (softened) and 1 cup of sugar
2. Fold in 2 cups of cool whip

Then put it all together:
1. Spread the middle layer on top of the pretzel layer and then spread the jello layer on top of it all.
2. Place in the fridge to chill completely (I made it the day before so it had an entire day to chill.)

Because it was the 4th, I added blueberries and blackberries on top for a splash of blue in that sea of red and white.  Plus with all of the fruit, it's healthy, right?

Whip this up!  You won't be sorry!  It's a people pleaser!
